Beer Bucket Gift & Pink Whipped Cream

Is it Friday yet? I don’t know if it’s the fact that we have a three day weekend coming up, but this week has been dragging on. At least it’s Friday eve!

I wanted to share the super fun and easy gift I DIYed for the husband for Valentine’s Day. I’m all about those puns, and headed to Marshalls hoping to find someone small I could get creative and punny with. I found this adorable beer bucket on clearance for $2 and scooped it right up. Martin isn’t the biggest beer fan, but he loves root beer – so I picked up a pack as well as some adorable Valentine Lifesavers (one of his favorites!). I filled the bucket with the goodies as well as the love letter I wrote as one of my “14 days of love” to dos. I made the “I love you beery much” design, printed it out, and stuck it in the bucket.

I set it on the table along with some festive cupcakes and candy hearts to surprise him when he got home from work. I love doing things like this!

OH, and I also have to share PINK homemade whipped cream! I’ve made homemade whipped cream before (it’s SO good), but I’ve never thought to add food coloring until this Valentine’s season. It was so fun!

To make homemade whipped use 1 cup of cold heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Simply beat the cream and sugar until peaks form when you take the beaters out. You can make the texture as fluffy as you want. After you have the texture right, add vanilla extract and food coloring if you’d like. Eat it on pancakes, cupcakes, fruit, or right out of the bowl with a spoon. I’m not judging.

Alright – I’m off for the night! Looking forward to this time tomorrow when my bestie is here and I have a long three day weekend ahead of me :)
