August, you were crazy awesome and crazy busy. Half of the month I was road tripping all over the west coast! Here’s my August recap:
Traveled: Since my crazy road trip was this month, I traveled lots of places! I won’t name everywhere but the seven states we drove through were Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Idaho!
Read: I’m still reading the same book… I brought it on vacation thinking I would finish it, but I read my magazine while I was poolside instead.
Ate & Drank: Oh man, I could go on forever naming all the delicious things we ate and drank! I’ll just do the top faves… World’s Best Mac and Cheese at Beecher’s Cheese shop in Seattle, Voo Doo Doughnuts in Portland, wine from Casa Nuestra in Napa Valley, In N Out, nachos and margaritas in Palm Springs, and rosemary fries and hard cider in Boise.
Friends: I road tripped with Merry so I spent lots of time with her. We also stopped in Boise on our way home and spent the night with Brenna which was fun! Earlier in the month we had dinner and drinks with some local friends.
Family: Since this month’s main focus was road trip – I didn’t get to see too much of my family. We (surprisingly) don’t have any August birthdays so we didn’t have any special occasions to gather for. It’ll start back up again in September though;)
Exercise: Merry and I did a lot of walking on our trip, thank goodness – since we spent so much time in the car. That’s about it for my exercise this month.
Celebrate: This month I celebrated VACATION!
Mani of the Month: White nails with a sparkly confetti accent nail.
Smiles: Donut pool float, dollar dahlias, laughing til I cried, being reunited with my hubby in Vegas, cuddling with my pups after a long two weeks apart, and so much more. I’ll share many more smiles in my trip recap!
Heard: Being in the car for hours on end means you hear a lot of different music. You also hear a lot of the same music. I’m loving all Taylor Swift right now!
Watched: We recently watched the Changeling starring Angelina Jolie and it was so good. Really intense and sad, but really well done. (Based on a true story as well, which makes it even sadder.) I also binge watched Young and Hungry on Netflix. I thought it was pretty funny, but couldn’t get the husband to watch it with me;)
Bye bye August! Here comes fall!
XOXO,
Kayla
