The second half of our Maui trip started on our sixth day on the island. We woke up super early (4 am!!!), loaded up the car, and headed to the summit of Mt. Haleakala for the sunrise. It was a good two hour drive and we were FREEZING even in our coats, but it was so worth it. You can’t beat a sunrise from 10,000 ft.
On our way back down the mountain, my stomach started to growl. I hopped on my phone and yelped restaurants that were nearby and on our route. There weren’t many choices, so I directed us toward La Provence – a little french restaurant. I’m SO glad we went here! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the coffee was strong. It was probably one of my favorite restaurants we went to.
After breakfast, we continued the drive back to West Maui, stopping in Paia to look in some shops. The remainder of the day consisted of drinks and apps at the Hula Grill in Kaanapali, checking into the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, relaxing by the pool, watching the sunset, having dinner and drinks at Umalu, and an early bedtime.
A special thank you to Journey Travel, for having goodies sent to our room!
