Maui – Day 3

Our third day in Maui was Monday, February 15th – the day before the wedding. We woke up and immediately made a Starbucks run – bringing our coffees back to the Lahaina house to sip on by the pool. (My first iced coffee since last summer!!) For the first half of the day, the girls stayed back at the house for poolside yoga followed by a relaxing afternoon and picnic lunch, while the boys headed to the beach.

Later in the afternoon, my hubby made his way back to the house, where we got ready to head to Front Street, downtown Lahaina. We wandered around, stopping at Lahainaluna Cafe for some fries to munch on. Right next door was Ululani’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice, which was on my list – so we stopped there too and got a small strawberry and coconut shaved ice to share. It was so good and so creamy – very different from the shaved ice you get on the mainland. I couldn’t get enough of the view as we ate our treat.

While on Front Street we also headed to the Banyan tree. As we got closer to it we could hear the birds getting louder and louder – it was crazy. There were thousands and thousands of birds in the tree – so many, that I was too chicken to walk under it for more than fifteen seconds. After that we headed back to the Lahaina House to have a BBQ with the others. (BBQ’d pork and pineapple!)
