Day 10 – Las Vegas, NV
Day 10 was a full day to stay and play in Vegas. After all the driving we’d been doing, it was much needed. We even got to sleep in a little, hooray! I like to call this picture, “Waking up in Vegas.”
After rolling ourselves out of bed, Starbucks was the first place we graced with our presence. Next was the pool.
I love the Flamingo Go Pool. The weekend we were there was so busy, we didn’t end up making it down early enough for lounge chairs so we spent our time in the pool. Which was necessary anyway in the 100 degree heat.
After pool time, we got ready for the day and ventured out. Merry and I got matching “weekend warrior” tanks for our trip and decided to bust them out for this day. Totally twinning.
Ready for lunch, we crossed the street to go to Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill inside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I’ve gone here the past three times in Vegas because Marty and I enjoy it. (He’s all about the fish and chips.) Merry and I split the roasted red pepper and pesto chicken sandwich. We got a sticky toffee cake dessert for the table as well. A pretty great lunch for the books.
After lunch we wandered further into Caesar’s Palace to find Fat Tuesday to get those obnoxious large blended drinks. You’ve got to have something cold to hold if you’re going to be wandering around out in that Vegas heat. While getting our drinks, we caught a little robotics show, which I didn’t know they did inside Caesar’s. Pretty cool, and very Vegas.
The rest of our day was totally “go with the flow.” We had no plans, and we liked it that way. On our way down the strip I caught a glimpse of a new Lush shop and had to go in and fill a goodie bag. Love that place.
We continued down the strip showing Marty’s friend, Dan, all the hotels – it was his first time in Vegas. We roamed all over, ducking in here and there and checking out all the sights. We grabbed a slice of pizza at a random pizza shop in Luxor because it was the first place we saw, and we didn’t feel like waiting anywhere.
Then it was back to our hotel, where we decided to go to O’Shae’s next door and play some good old fashioned beer pong. It was Merry and I against the boys, and it felt like college again;) A great end to a great day.
