Hey all! \u00a0This past weekend has been kinda boring around our household. \u00a0My hubby is out of town for the week taking some certification classes, so this last weekend was spent doing laundry, housework, and taking care of business before we are both away from home for the week. \u00a0He had another training back in January, and let me tell \u00a0you…. it was\u00a0awful. \u00a0<\/em>I hate it when he’s gone overnight, let alone a whole week! \u00a0I don’t know if this is a universal wife thing, or if it’s just me– but I\u00a0cannot\u00a0<\/em>sleep when my hubs is gone. \u00a0It’s no fun! \u00a0So, the last time he was gone for a week I was super exhausted and it took me awhile to get my sleep schedule back to normal. \u00a0This time, I planned on packing up myself and the pups and staying at my mom’s for the week. \u00a0I think I’ll be able to sleep better, plus I’ll get some bonding in with my little brother :)<\/p>\n

Friday night after work, I made spaghetti for dinner. \u00a0As always, I was super drained from the workweek so we cozied up with dessert and a movie. \u00a0I really wanted to watch Home Alone, but hubby was like “Really, babe?” \u00a0I laughed and said, “Yes really. \u00a0It’s such a good movie!!!” \u00a0This is a good chance to throw in how different we are when it comes to watching shows and movies. \u00a0I have no problem watching movies and TV shows I really like over and over again… and I tend to prefer ones that make me feel good about life. \u00a0(And a friend just let us borrow all of the seasons of Boy Meets World. \u00a0Score!) \u00a0My husband, on the other hand, has a never ending “to watch” list, full of shows and movies that I swear he only wants to watch so he can get the satisfaction of crossing them off his list, hehe. \u00a0On the bright side though, every now and then a show comes along that we can both agree on. \u00a0(Mad Men, New Girl, etc.) \u00a0Anyway, back to our movie dilemma. \u00a0I ended up losing the bidding war so we did\u00a0not\u00a0<\/em>get to watch Home Alone. \u00a0(Next time, maybe?) Instead we ended up crossing The Host off of my love’s “to watch” list. \u00a0It was really quite mushy for a sci-fi flick, and I would say it was only okay. \u00a0In other words, I would\u00a0not\u00a0<\/em>watch it again. \u00a0I’ll take three helpings of Home Alone instead :)<\/p>\n

The dessert, though, was fun. \u00a0And really unhealthy. \u00a0But super tasty.<\/p>\n

\"Sundae\"<\/a>I scooped us some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream into two bowls. \u00a0Then, I chopped up some cookie dough oreos. \u00a0(These are a limited edition flavor that I was skeptical of, but the husband just had to have. \u00a0By themselves, they were only okay–I certainly wouldn’t give up regular oreas for them. \u00a0But, added to ice cream \u00a0they were delicious!) \u00a0The final touch was caramel drizzled over the top. \u00a0Yum!<\/p>\n

Saturday we dropped our little Westie off to get groomed, grabbed a vanilla latte from Starbucks and then did some shopping. \u00a0I snagged the cutest little finds from the dollar section at Target, including really cute polka dot paper straws in spring colors. \u00a0I can’t wait to use them! \u00a0We also saw Catching Fire, which was really good. \u00a0The remainder of the day was spent doing chores and sneaking in an episode of New Girl here and there. \u00a0Oh, and I had way too much fun doing this to my nails:<\/p>\n

Sunday we said our goodbyes and my love headed over the mountains. \u00a0I ran around like a crazy woman doing my packing for the week at the very last minute. \u00a0Then my pups and I headed out to my mom’s, or gram’s as I like to tell my dogs. \u00a0Yep, I’m\u00a0that\u00a0<\/em>crazy dog lady. \u00a0No shame- my dogs are family :) \u00a0My brothers came out for the day, so I had a wonderful Sunday spent eating delicious calzones made by my sister-in-law with brownies for dessert, playing games on the wii with my nephew, coloring pictures with my niece, and then watching the Oscars in the evening. \u00a0(Ellen should seriously host everything from now on– so funny!) And I did all this while it snowed nonstop\u00a0<\/em>outside. \u00a0C’mon weather, it’s March already!<\/p>\n
