{"id":51,"date":"2012-11-04T09:21:00","date_gmt":"2012-11-04T17:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/momentsdontcollectdust.com\/?p=51"},"modified":"2014-07-09T19:50:08","modified_gmt":"2014-07-10T02:50:08","slug":"wedding-details-breakfast-at-tiffanys-inspired-bridal-shower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/momentsdontcollectdust.com\/?p=51","title":{"rendered":"Wedding Details: Breakfast at Tiffany&#8217;s Inspired Bridal Shower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Hey all- I&#8217;ve updated this post with better quality pictures <a title=\"Breakfast at Tiffany\u2019s Bridal Shower\" href=\"https:\/\/momentsdontcollectdust.com\/?p=437\" target=\"_blank\">here!<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>For my second post in the &#8220;Wedding Details&#8221; series, I couldn&#8217;t help but share my bridal shower.\u00a0 Thanks to the advice of a creative bridesmaid, I made the decision to have a brunch\u00a0inspired\u00a0by one of my favorite movies, &#8220;Breakfast at Tiffany&#8217;s.&#8221;\u00a0 With a lot of help from from friends and family, it came together perfectly.\u00a0 In this post, I&#8217;m going to share all of the fun, inspired, and lovely details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decorations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My bridal shower was held at my mom&#8217;s house outside.\u00a0 We used my parent&#8217;s outdoor tent, tables borrowed from the office where I work, and chairs rented from a local party rental store.\u00a0 My sister-in-law set the table beautifully, using china that she had purchased for me (my bridal shower gift!) In the center of the tent we hung a chandelier that I already had.\u00a0(You, unfortunately, can&#8217;t see it in the pictures.)<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-dpspr_8amvI\/UJYDpXVWUgI\/AAAAAAAAAIo\/7FvJ4aOSn1I\/s1600\/Table+Setting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-dpspr_8amvI\/UJYDpXVWUgI\/AAAAAAAAAIo\/7FvJ4aOSn1I\/s400\/Table+Setting.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"495\" height=\"298\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-IbgU3DoaJ5U\/UJYDxFvsuHI\/AAAAAAAAAIw\/KYClYqvtzq0\/s1600\/centerpiece.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-IbgU3DoaJ5U\/UJYDxFvsuHI\/AAAAAAAAAIw\/KYClYqvtzq0\/s320\/centerpiece.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"494\" height=\"329\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We, also,\u00a0scattered fake pearls and diamonds over the table.\u00a0 The centerpiece consisted of white carnations (from Safeway)\u00a0in a clear vase adorned with a pink bow, and an adorable little chandelier borrowed from a coworker.\u00a0 The Tiffany blue tablecloth with the white runners was a surprise from my mom and my sister-in-law, made to (of course) look like the signature Tiffany blue box.\u00a0 It was perfect!<\/p>\n<div><strong>Menu<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-OH8rIjcW0Ho\/UJX1pw2iPNI\/AAAAAAAAAHw\/_QOztFLM3Gs\/s1600\/IMG_2024+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-OH8rIjcW0Ho\/UJX1pw2iPNI\/AAAAAAAAAHw\/_QOztFLM3Gs\/s320\/IMG_2024+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"416\" height=\"355\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since my bridal shower was a brunch, the menu was important.\u00a0 I wanted simple and elegant menu items.\u00a0 Here is what we had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fruit Tarts<\/li>\n<li>Mini Pancake Skewers<\/li>\n<li>Petit Fours (mini cakes)<\/li>\n<li>Fresh strawberries and blueberries<\/li>\n<li>Bacon, Egg, and Toast Cups<\/li>\n<li>Cake Donuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The cake donuts below were purchased from a local bakery.\u00a0 They came plain, so we bought frosting (turned pink with red food coloring.)\u00a0 Pink sprinkles were the final touch!\u00a0 Yum!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-Mzl3MKEI0wM\/UJX2WmSzfGI\/AAAAAAAAAH4\/8z6UoaQxQ8o\/s1600\/IMG_2011+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-Mzl3MKEI0wM\/UJX2WmSzfGI\/AAAAAAAAAH4\/8z6UoaQxQ8o\/s200\/IMG_2011+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"248\" height=\"221\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The donut tower was an adorable idea I couldn&#8217;t resist.\u00a0 I found it from a blog that is full of wonderful ideas for hosting a Breakfast at Tiffany&#8217;s themed bridal shower.\u00a0 Here is the link:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eatdrinkpretty.com\/2010\/07\/real-party-breakfast-at-tiffanys-bridal.html\" target=\"_blank\">Eat Drink Pretty Breakfast at Tiffany&#8217;s bridal shower.<\/a>\u00a0 The bacon, egg, and toast cups were an idea I found on Pinterest.\u00a0 They were simple, delicious, and provided us with something to eat that wasn&#8217;t sweet.\u00a0 Our menu was simple, but very tasty.\u00a0 You can never go wrong with brunch!<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-H_Pyk6AKoLg\/UJX2b7FFCyI\/AAAAAAAAAIA\/RGutCv-AOT0\/s1600\/IMG_2044+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-H_Pyk6AKoLg\/UJX2b7FFCyI\/AAAAAAAAAIA\/RGutCv-AOT0\/s400\/IMG_2044+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Next, beverages. One of my favorite parts of the bridal shower was probably the mimosa bar. It was so adorable. And what is brunch without mimosas?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Our mimosa bar was made up of three options to have with champagne:\u00a0 orange juice, V8 Splash tropical (makes such a yummy mimosa!) and peach juice (for bellinis.)\u00a0 We also had strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries for garnishing our mimosas.\u00a0 We decorated the mimosa bar with my Breakfast at Tiffanys wine glass (with fake diamonds and a tealight) and my Breakfast at Tiffany&#8217;s poster.\u00a0 The labels I made by simply printing directly onto pretty scrapbook paper I already had.\u00a0 The other beverage options we had were sparkling pink lemonade, bottles of water, and coffee.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-qiwlHkf0UDg\/UJYBJmSzmAI\/AAAAAAAAAIY\/e18HhnyUHVA\/s320\/IMG_2027+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"237\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-RV6919Wftjw\/UJYMiOPdbjI\/AAAAAAAAAKM\/JqQSVQ4mVtY\/s1600\/IMG_2005+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-RV6919Wftjw\/UJYMiOPdbjI\/AAAAAAAAAKM\/JqQSVQ4mVtY\/s320\/IMG_2005+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-lBaaZyksAyY\/UJX--jM_XBI\/AAAAAAAAAIQ\/ckVZvFpzIz0\/s1600\/IMG_2012+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-lBaaZyksAyY\/UJX--jM_XBI\/AAAAAAAAAIQ\/ckVZvFpzIz0\/s400\/IMG_2012+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"458\" height=\"460\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div><strong>Games<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Games are a very important aspect to a successful bridal shower.\u00a0 After all, who wants their guests to get bored?\u00a0\u00a0The good news is that there are tons of great games out there that are easy <em>and<\/em>\u00a0fun.\u00a0 We stuck to four basic games.\u00a0 The first game was an ongoing game that lasted throughout the brunch.\u00a0 Upon their arrival, each guest was given a pink ribbon necklace and informed of three words that they could not say throughout the shower, or they would lose their necklace.\u00a0 The three words were my groom&#8217;s name, wedding, and marry (in any form.)\u00a0 If someone was caught saying any of these words, the person who caught them got to take their necklace.\u00a0 At the end, whoever had the most necklaces won a prize.<\/p>\n<p>The next game was the purse game, one of my favorites.\u00a0 One of my bridesmaids had compiled a list of things that she read off, and we had to look in our purses to see how many of the random objects we had.\u00a0 It was similar to a scavenger hunt.\u00a0 It was so\u00a0entertaining to see the random things that we all had in our purses.\u00a0 At the end the pair that had the most items in their purse got to pick a prize.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-plWVe04Psmo\/UJYJSgIAnVI\/AAAAAAAAAJI\/os5UfIiMOSE\/s1600\/IMG_2104+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-plWVe04Psmo\/UJYJSgIAnVI\/AAAAAAAAAJI\/os5UfIiMOSE\/s200\/IMG_2104+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"247\" height=\"164\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-kVJvphxrWMc\/UJYJRVhjLFI\/AAAAAAAAAJA\/hwpTY76q5io\/s1600\/IMG_2018+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-kVJvphxrWMc\/UJYJRVhjLFI\/AAAAAAAAAJA\/hwpTY76q5io\/s200\/IMG_2018+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"262\" height=\"164\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>We also played the classic &#8220;How well do you know the bride and groom&#8221; game.\u00a0 This one is self-explanatory.\u00a0 The last game we played was the &#8220;toilet paper wedding gown&#8221; game!\u00a0 This was too much fun.\u00a0 The guests broke up into three teams and had rolls of toilet paper to design an award-winning bridal gown on their appointed team model.\u00a0 The best part?\u00a0 Since I was the bride, I got to be the judge!\u00a0 After the teams had five minutes to create their dresses, the models had to strut their stuff for all of us as I decided which team won.\u00a0 This game is a bridal shower must!<\/p>\n<div><strong>Details<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>I love details.\u00a0 They really can make something good, <em>great.<\/em>\u00a0 Here are just a few details from here and there that helped make my bridal shower special.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-2ON6vuvkJVM\/UJYJ93ekDII\/AAAAAAAAAJU\/b-c7ikL92bQ\/s1600\/favors.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-2ON6vuvkJVM\/UJYJ93ekDII\/AAAAAAAAAJU\/b-c7ikL92bQ\/s320\/favors.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"317\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>These\u00a0champagne flutes were favors for the guests at\u00a0my shower.\u00a0 My\u00a0maid of\u00a0honor and I used\u00a0chalkboard\u00a0spray paint to spray paint the bottom of the glasses so that we could\u00a0use them as place cards as well.\u00a0 We put a small bag filled with after dinner mints inside the glass as well.\u00a0 They were adorable and very simple favors!\u00a0 Champagne flutes were a neccessity as well because we had champagne, and since I didn&#8217;t want to buy a lot of champagne flutes for myself, it made sense to turn them into favors and let the guests\u00a0take them home.<\/p>\n<p>Another favor (which was also a dessert item) were rose and salted caramel flavored macarons in adorable Tiffany inspired gift boxes. This was such a special detail that was absolutely perfect for the shower. I love macarons! And these boxes were fabulous. My mom found and ordered them online. They were a great find!<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-4JqYdPTr4o0\/UJYKHpxWNDI\/AAAAAAAAAJ0\/xCLI8yPIwsY\/s1600\/Macarons.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-4JqYdPTr4o0\/UJYKHpxWNDI\/AAAAAAAAAJ0\/xCLI8yPIwsY\/s640\/Macarons.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"401\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Below is the gift table.\u00a0 We decorated it with white and pink balloons, pink peonies, and white carnations.\u00a0 We also placed a couple heart candles by the vases as well.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-F3ZTCMyOp4I\/UJYKCM3d7sI\/AAAAAAAAAJc\/zHk0WbM_kqA\/s1600\/IMG_2008+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-F3ZTCMyOp4I\/UJYKCM3d7sI\/AAAAAAAAAJc\/zHk0WbM_kqA\/s640\/IMG_2008+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"371\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-ER9Yl752byg\/UJYKDzDkOXI\/AAAAAAAAAJk\/1ExNgRGJa34\/s1600\/IMG_2015+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-ER9Yl752byg\/UJYKDzDkOXI\/AAAAAAAAAJk\/1ExNgRGJa34\/s320\/IMG_2015+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"405\" height=\"242\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>I found these beautiful pink peonies at Coscto.\u00a0 They were very inexpensive and absolutely ideal as they are my favorite flower.\u00a0 They are stunning.\u00a0 These lovelies were decorations for the buffet table.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-t_SpAdM2YIk\/UJYKF0_4RgI\/AAAAAAAAAJs\/C6rG8Tfw00A\/s1600\/IMG_2075+copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-t_SpAdM2YIk\/UJYKF0_4RgI\/AAAAAAAAAJs\/C6rG8Tfw00A\/s320\/IMG_2075+copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"268\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Here, two of my lovely bridesmaids are making my &#8220;bouquet&#8221; out of all of the tissue, bows, and ribbons from the bridal shower.\u00a0 The bouquet is for me to use at my rehearsal dinner.<\/p>\n<p>And then, finally, below is a picture of my maid of honor and myself.\u00a0 The last details are fun details for the bride.\u00a0 My maid of honor got this\u00a0adorable bride to be sash for me which I was to wear at my bachelorette party.\u00a0\u00a0Below I am also wearing a giant diamond ring pin, and a\u00a0cute\u00a0tiara that says bride to\u00a0be, both gifts from my mom.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-qB8XIDHbz2k\/UJafKeobd8I\/AAAAAAAAAKo\/aogC9yR_R0g\/s1600\/IMG_2128+copyy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-qB8XIDHbz2k\/UJafKeobd8I\/AAAAAAAAAKo\/aogC9yR_R0g\/s400\/IMG_2128+copyy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"429\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>For me, planning an event is just as fun as attending one.\u00a0 I love all of the details and possibilities.\u00a0 Needless to say, I had such a great time at my Breakfast at Tiffany&#8217;s inspired bridal shower!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Hey all- I&#8217;ve updated this post with better quality pictures here!)
