A Very Milly Christmas

Having the holidays off for maternity leave is pretty fabulous. Right now I’ve got a sweet sleeping babe right next to me, a delicious cup of coffee in a Christmas mug, and Friends on TV. (I really should put on a Christmas movie… oh well!) Since this is Milly’s first Christmas, I’ve made it my mission to soak up all that this season has to offer with a Christmas countdown! Each day in December we’ve been doing something festive in anticipation for our favorite holiday. Sure, she won’t remember this, but I will. And I live for this kind of thing!

^^^ I totally meant to post that before Christmas. But, holy smokes the holidays are such a busy time for us! What a magical first Christmas season with my little sidekick this has been! I’ll just have to share our countdown now. :) If you follow me on Instagram (kayla_wachtel), I shared what we did on my story. I can’t wait for the years when she can do all the fun stuff with me! (Except that I really can wait. Time, don’t go any faster!!)

I think the highlights of the season for us were all the snuggly mornings in our Christmas PJs (which we pretty much lived in), getting a snow day, supporting our local humane society at a holiday brunch, and my company Christmas party (which had an ugly sweater contest, tons of games and a dodgeball tournament… best Christmas party yet! Plus baby girl was SO GOOD – she loves to party.) I’m so happy to say I finally got my act together and sent out Christmas cards too!! It’s been a great month, and I’m sad to see it coming to an end. But I’ll leave you with this picture of my FAVORITE gift under the tree this year :)

I hope you had a PERFECT December!

XO,
Kayla
