28 Weeks

How far along? 28 weeks,  5 days
Total weight gain: 16+ pounds
Maternity clothes? Some maternity – but still working with some of my regular clothes.
Sleep: Mostly good.
Best moments this week: A baby shower for my niece on Thursday, and the smoke clearing today!!! When I woke up at 7, I went outside to water my plants while my coffee was brewing, and the smoke was cleared, I could see the Cascades again, AND it was 67 degrees!! I felt a strong desire to put pumpkin spice in my coffee and watch Hocus Pocus…
Miss Anything: These days I’m back to missing multiple cups of coffee. The tiredness has officially caught up to me!
Movement: Yes! My belly is probably my biggest source of entertainment these days. Little girl is already such a distraction!
Food cravings: It has been sweets for a long time, but with all the leftover cupcakes and cake from the BBQ last weekend I started to crave healthy. This weekend the husband BBQ’d salmon and I made basil parmesan brown rice to go with. (SO GOOD! Just make the brown rice according to the package directions, cook some minced garlic in a skillet with butter for a minute, add minced fresh basil and some more butter and cook for a minute or so, add the rice, then the parmesan, and enjoy!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Honestly, the smoke was starting to get to me, but as of today we officially have GOOD air quality!
Have you started to show yet: Definitely!
Gender: Little baby girl!
Labor Signs: Nope. I read that it’s common for women in their third trimester to experience Braxton Hicks contractions. (You know, like they do all the time on sitcoms.) I haven’t, and I’m wondering if I will?
Belly Button in or out? It sure looks funny these days.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Although, husband can vouch that if I haven’t eaten dinner by 7PM, moodiness sets in. But I don’t know that this was any different before I was pregnant…
Weekly Wisdom: Always eat dinner before 7PM. See above.
Looking Forward to: Fall. Also, I’m helping Merry decorate her classroom next weekend!

XO,
Kayla
