Pumpkin Carving Party

Happy Halloween Eve!

Last night we had the annual family pumpkin carving party at my house.  There are only two words needed to describe this event:  fun mayhem.  When my family gets together it is always mayhem.  BUT, it is absolutely fun mayhem.  Between the kids and the grown-ups who still act like kids… we always have a blast.

It was a really enjoyable night.  For dinner my mom brought pulled pork with homemade barbecue sauce for pulled pork sandwiches and chips, and my sis-in-law brought taco soup!  Yum!  (Perfect fall menu!)  For dessert my mom made pumpkin cupcakes with pumpkin cream cheese frosting.

After dinner we got to carving our pumpkins.  As you can imagine, things got messy.  But, once we lined up the finished masterpieces with tea-light candles inside, it was all worth it.  Seriously, turning off all the lights to see the pumpkins a-glow is one of my highlights of Halloween.

Here are some snapshots from the eventful evening!

Such a fun time!  And now, my hubby and I are going to settle in and watch a Halloween movie to celebrate this Halloween Eve :)

How did you decorate your pumpkins this year?
