January 2015 Recap

Oh, January. You went by so quickly, but at the same time- I feel like I experienced you to the fullest. That’s been the change I’ve wanted to make for 2015. I know life flies by, and I know that the days are long but the years are short. But, if I’m out there collecting as many moments as possible rather than letting time pass me by- I can look back and think that the time flew, but I still experienced all I wanted to.

January was a great start to the year. I did everything I set out to do and more. Here’s a little recap of the memorable moments of January 2015!

Traveled: At the beginning of the month I went to Las Vegas for my 25th birthday, which was a blast!

Read: I read a cheesy romance novel with a title I cannot remember, I reread the Diary of Anne Frank (SO AMAZING), and I’m currently reading One Thousand Gifts for a work bible study.

Ate & Drank: SO many memorable meals and drinks from this month- most of which were from my Vegas food tour birthday trip. Let’s see… memorable/favorite restaurants are Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill (best fries ever), Wicked Spoon (best buffet ever), Secret Pizza (white pizza- enough said), Canaletto (pasta!!), Mon Ami Gabi (crepes), and Blue Flame (sushi and the best crab won-tons ever). Also, to die for cupcakes from Sprinkles! I’ve made some pretty yummy things in the kitchen myself this month as well, including lots of soups, and baked spaghetti.

Friends: I got to see my bestie a couple times (New Year’s & Winterfest weekend), and chatted with some others a couple times. I’m hoping for more friend time this year!

Family: I was pretty lucky with the family time this month. Between Vegas with my parents, a brunch and a birthday celebration with my family, dinner and game night with Marty’s little sister, and football at Marty’s dad’s- I’ve had a great family month!

Exercise: Alright- this area needs work still. Aside from the short dog-walks here and there, I haven’t been all that active. I did go snowboarding once which was a great workout though!

Celebrate: Since January is my birthday month- I feel like I’ve celebrated a lot. New Years, a couple different birthdays, vacation, Winterfest… there was a lot to celebrate this month! Also, National Bubble Bath Day, National Cheese Lovers Day– so fun!

Mani of the Month: Just for fun- my favorite mani was the white + gold sparkles I had for New Year’s Eve.

Smiles: So many smiles this month! Basically everything I’ve mentioned thus far + the thoughtful gifts and cards I’ve received for my birthday + the surprise Starbucks coffee & flower from my husband + a master bathroom makeover from my auntie + much much more. I’ve been smiling all month!! I adore this birthday present from Marty…

Heard: I basically love everything by For King And Country, especially “Shoulders” and “Long Live.” After watching Michael Jackson ONE in Vegas, I’ve been relistening (is that a word?) to “Man in the Mirror” – such a good song!

Watched: This month I watched New Year’s Eve and I finished Lord of the Rings. I had never seen them before so my husband forced me to had me watch them. They were good! I’m making him watch the Harry Potter movies now…

Alright January- you were pretty awesome. Until next year!

xoxo,
Kayla
