Second Anniversary

Two years ago today, my husband and I said “I do” in the pouring rainNot the sprinkling of rain. Not the light shower of rain. The pouring rain. Our guests had to wring their shirts out after the ceremony. I’m not even joking. I couldn’t believe it. I remember standing up there in front of everyone- and while I should have been thinking about how in love I was, or prepping myself for our vows, I was instead thinking, “Is this really happening right now? Is it really dumping bucket loads of rain at our wedding?” My sweet, sweet husband was holding our (very adorable) umbrella the whole time, and his positioning was not the best, as I could feel rain drizzling off of the umbrella and down my back.

Holy rain Batman.

Literally THE SECOND we had our first kiss as husband and wife and proceeded to walk back up the aisle, the clouds parted and the sun came out. Just in time to dry off our tables, chairs, and guests for the reception. Here we are, two years later, and we still have relatives telling us how amazing our wedding was, and how the rain made it unforgettable. Yeah, we like to keep things exciting over here :)

In honor of our second anniversary, I thought I’d share some snapshots from the rainy day. These lovely photographs were taken by Stephanie Fry of Stephanie Fry Photography.

We stayed up until midnight last night to “ring in” the anniversary, so I may need extra coffee today. After work we are going to go out to Dinner at a local Italian restaurant. We bought each other each a cotton shirt for a gift, because the second anniversary is the cotton anniversary. AND, I baked us a cake which we will enjoy after dinner. Or maybe before. We’ll see :)

Happy Monday!

xoxo,
Kayla
