Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a wonderful Easter!  We had a really busy weekend, but it was a good busy, full of fun with family and friends!

On Friday after work I gave myself an at-home mani with my favorite nail polish.  I lit a candle, put on some music, poured a glass of wine and painted away.  I need to make this a weekly ritual, it was so nice!

A little while after the sun went down, a friend of my hubby’s came over with his telescope and beer and we all sat on the deck and looked for Mars.  It was a perfectly clear night and we had a pretty good time.  It just needs to get a little bit warmer to make star gazing a more regular occurrence;)

Saturday morning we had an Easter block party with our neighbors.  We attended something similar in the fall, and it was so much fun!  Everyone brings something for a pot luck style meal and we all hang out chatting and eating.  For the Easter block party, everyone hid eggs in their front yards for the kiddos to find.  One of our neighbors made orange bowknots, and they were so delicious!  The block party was from 10am-12pm but we ended up having to leave early to make it to Chelan for my sister-in-law’s birthday celebration.

We had a very fun day in Chelan, filled with wine tasting at different wineries with my hubby’s family- celebrating his sister’s 22nd birthday.  (And his grandma’s 70th!)  Wine tasting in Chelan was a first for me, and I fell in love with some of the wineries in my favorite lakeside town!  Here are a few snapshots from the day.

Easter Sunday started with church at 8 a.m.  It was so powerful.  I adore celebrating Easter at church.  He is risen, he is risen indeed!  After church we headed out to my mom’s house for brunch and Easter fun.  Our brunch showstoppers were these cinnamon rolls, AKA the best cinnamon rolls ever.   We also had hard boiled eggs (of course), bacon, sausage, and lots of fresh fruit.  We had Easter dinner later on, which consisted of pulled pork sandwiches, brats, chips & salsa, and twice baked potatoes.  For dessert we all had an ice cream cone, which my lovely little 5 year old niece handed out to everyone before getting to enjoy one herself.  The day was full of Easter shenanigans, playing in the sun, and lots of love and laughter.

Needless to say, by the time we made it home Sunday evening we were wiped.  Definitely a weekend for the books!  Here’s to a new week!
