Spring Sangria

Crossing things off my spring bucket list over here!  While my bestie was visiting me recently, we whipped up a pitcher of spring sangria!  I looove sangria, but I had never made it before.  Luckily, I think it’s pretty foolproof.  Take a bottle of wine, a juice or soda of some kind, and lots of fresh fruit.  Mix it up, let it chill for awhile, and enjoy.  I can’t wait to try more variations as the weather warms up!  I see sangria and relaxing on the deck in my future….

Here’s what we used for our delicious spring sangria:

  • A bottle of white wine (I used Pinot Grigio)
  • 12 oz of Fresca (a can)
  • A splash of peach nectar
  • Pineapple
  • Raspberries
  • An apple (I used a Fuji)

First, prep and chop your apple and pineapple.  Put these in the pitcher.  Next, pour in the wine, Fresca, and peach nectar.  Stir.  I added the raspberries last and stirred gently because I didn’t want to crush them.  Chill in the fridge for at least a few hours.  (The longer the better.)  Pour the sangria into glasses, and make sure to scoop out some of the delicious fruit!  Have spoons available:)

Spring sangria is best enjoyed in a relaxed setting, so you can sip and enjoy life.  I enjoyed mine with my mom and best friend, as we baked cinnamon rolls and played cards on a relaxed Saturday afternoon.  I can’t wait for peaches to be in season so I can throw a bunch into a summer sangria!
